  1. When a mask come down pull it over your head and place it over your mouth and nose and pull the string on the side.
  2. When there is a emergency and the plane is taking of for landing you have two put your hands on your head and your elbows put your right beside your legs and your feet have to stay firmly on the floor.

  1. Hi Courtney, It's great to see that you took the time to watch the 'Men in Black' safety video. The All Blacks do a great job of singing and demonstrating how to stay safe in an airplane. You are absolutely right to note that people are not allowed to smoke while on board the plane and must brace themselves in the case of an emergency. Luckily, people don't have to put their hands on their head and plant their feet firmly on regular take-off and landing. You can just sit normally in your seat:)

I'm looking forward to following your blog posts and to learning more about Chile as you explore the country over the next few weeks!

Bem-vindo ao Chile ('Welcome to Chile'),

  2. Dear Courtney,

A trip to Chile would be such a great adventure! Do you know how long the plane ride would take?

I flew back and forth between Germany and New Zealand a couple of times and being on an airplane for more than 10 hrs (the total trip takes about about 24 - 30 hrs, but you have to change planes at least once) is not the most fun. What do you think you would do during that time?

Your post about the safety video reminded me of the first time I flew with my son, when he was a very little baby. I was getting a bit worried whether there would be an extra mask for him, as he was sitting on my lap. But the flight attendant assured me that there would be at least one extra for each row (I think it is 3 masks per 3 seats or so).

Enjoy your trip, I am looking forwards to reading more about it,
    cheers, Katharina
